Liturgical Ministries
Spirituality Committee
The Spirituality Committee is responsible for revivals, retreats, the Sister to Sister program, the Night Watch Service, and the following ministries:
Art & Environment
This Ministry is involved in making St. Rita Church prayerful and aesthetically beautiful. When you attend a Parish function and notice the beautifully decorated altars or artistic floral arrangements in the sanctuary, you are looking at some of the efforts of this ministry.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers assist the priest in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. The men and women of this ministry must complete a training session prior to serving.
Lectors
Men, women, and children proclaim the Liturgy of the Word at Mass.
Liturgical Praise and Worship Dancers
Liturgical dance is an expression of spiritual joy.
Sacristans
Serve the parish by preparing all the physical objects and elements needed for the Mass. They prepare the vessels for the Eucharistic liturgy, set out appropriate quantities of bread and wine, and assist the priest and other ministers in vesting. They ensure that the books are properly placed, and when the Mass is over, clean and put away all the vessels and objects used during the celebration.
Altar Servers
The altar servers help to create an atmosphere of reverence during the procession to the altar and assist the priest and deacons during all Liturgical services. Further assistance includes weddings, funerals, and other special liturgical functions. Training is available for the altar servers. Adult men and women are most welcome to help with this special ministry.
